Absolutely Beauty: The products I have been loving lately!

I've tried so many good beauty products lately that it just made sense to put them all together in one favourites most for you all.

So, without further ado, here are the products I've been rating lately...

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I got this in a set along with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and together, they’re definitely a winning combination.

This liner comes in felt tip style design, with a precise and sturdy nib that allows you to create sharp lines effortlessly. Precise in the same way as the needle of a tattoo gun, with this you are able to get really close to the lash line to achieve a neater look - and feline flick!

Although in principle, I find pen liners far easier to work with paint pot style ones I have found in the past that sometimes they don’t last quite so long. They can clog up, particularly when used with glittery shadows and often the colour weakens.

I was wary about that when I used this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The liner comes out in jet black and I didn’t experience any colour fade while wearing it. As this was in a set I did have it in the smaller size, but it still lasted me months and performed well right til the end.

L’Oréal Paris Fine Flowers Gel Cream Wash

I’ve tried hundreds of different face washes. I get drawn in by a glossy television advert of a woman with impeccable skin, rush out and buy the same product, get home to use it and I’m rarely that impressed.

Face washes, while refreshing, have never seemed to actually do anything special to my skin. Cut out moisturiser or cleanser and my face cries out for it, but face washes? They’ve never had much impact.

As a result, my expectations were pretty low when I picked up this wash from L’Oréal’s new Fine Flowers range.

Boy, was I wrong. Since purchasing the first time I’ve already re-bought it and it’s become a staple in my daily skincare routine.

Packed with rose and jasmine flowers, this gentle combination is kind to skin, leaving it soft and soothed after each use. The product is a pearlescent cream, which when in contact with wet skin gently foams that deeply cleanses skin. After each use, my skin feels completely refreshed and clean

While this hasn’t stopped my skin behaving badly, I’ve noticed since using this that it’s certainly halved the lifetime of any pimples that do appear. Within a day it reduces what starts off as a raging spot declaring war on my face, to a small blemish.

A complete win for hormonal female skin in my book!

Real Techniques Blusher Blush

I like good makeup brushes and I appreciate the job they do, but I’ve never found one I thought was particularly exceptional until I bought this.

When I was younger I never really appreciated the way that blusher could set off a look. In fact, as I experimented with bolder eye makeup, I probably appeared quite ghostly without a pop of colour on my cheeks.

These days I swear by it - and by this brush! I know it isn’t particularly difficult to apply blusher, but this brush honestly has improved my technique. The fluffy bristles allow you to really blend the product effortlessly to give a really natural rosy look, that is easily buildable if you want something more dramatic.

Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Gel

Last but by no means least is this COMPLETE gamechanger.

I am yet to meet someone who doesn't find cleaning makeup brushes to be a complete chore that seems to take forever and ever to finish. That was, until I spontaneously picked this up in my local Superdrug and decided to give it a try.

I am SO glad that I did.

Just to note, sadly this does not do the whole job for you - but it does take care of a lot of the hard work. I use a pea sized amount of the gel on a brush cleaning palette that I picked up ridiculously cheap on eBay, add a little water and swirl the brushes into the palette.

It almost dissolves the makeup in the brush and has almost halved the time it takes me to clean my dirty brushes. I love this and when it runs out, I will be straight back to the shops to buy more. It's the best cleaner I have ever used.
