The October 2016 Glossy Box - Estée Lalonde Edit

Last month, completely taken in my September’s offering, I reinstated by Glossybox subscription. Fast forward to this month and I had completely forgotten having done this and was only reminded when I received the little red slip informing me I had a parcel awaiting collection at the Post Office. Well, I do like surprises!
This month’s box was guest edited by award winning beauty and lifestyle vlogger Estée Lalonde to coincide with the launch of her new book ‘Bloom’ and contains a handful of her favourite products to experiment with.

Let’s take a look in the box…

The Body Shop ‘Drops of Youth’
The first product I want to mention is this one. When I saw this range released, this was one of those products on my ‘I must buy’ list which just never got bought. I admit that I did perhaps forget about it, so I am really glad it was included in the box.
It’s a serum designed to be used to tackle the first signs of aging, helping you before they start to get more visible. If you saw my recent post about anti-aging, you’ll know these are products which I have started to use more frequently.
This retails at £25 for a full size product.

Bee Good ‘Honey and Camelina Facial Exfoliator’
I have really tried to step up my facial skincare routine lately, so this one is a perfect addition to the box.
Containing vitamin E, wheatgerm oil and wild flower honey to just name a few, it is designed to buff away dead skin cells, while soothing and moisturising. It’s the CEW Beauty Awards Winner for 2016, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the fuss is about. Beee-atiful!
This retails at £10.50 for a full size product.

Trifle Cosmetics ‘Lip Parfait’ in Exotic Fruits
This one got my boyfriend’s approval, so we are already off to a good start.
I love a good lipstick and the texture of this one is great. It feels buttery and so hydrating that I was surprised to find it dries to become matte! It’s really light to wear and the colour is really subtle and flattering.
This retails at £212.95 for a full size product.

PS…PRO Graphic Eyeliner
Part of the Primark Beauty range, this budget liner has a felt tip nib which enables you to create thick and thin lines. It didn’t seem quite as dark as I would usually like a liner to be when I sampled it on my hand, but I haven’t given it a proper testing yet. Given that Halloween is fast approaching and dramatic makeup is pretty much the expectation, it’s probably the perfect occasion to really try this out.
This retails at £3 for a full size product.

Universal Beauty Cosmetics ‘Secret Flush, Soothing Cream Blusher and Lip Stain Duo’ in Nectar
Everybody loves a dual purpose product and I especially like this one. It’s a really lovely peachy pink colour which works well with my pale skin tone. The shimmery formula means that when applied to cheeks it has a great illuminating effect and when worn as a lip stain, gives a really nice sheen.
It’s really moisturising and easy to blend, although my concern would be how longwearing it is given it is really glossy.
This retails at £15 for a full size product.

And the secret product…

In this month’s box, Estée included what she describes as a ‘new hair hero’. This is a classic bestseller that recently been given a little update and I have spent the last few days compulsively smelling it to see if I can work out which brand it is!
Initially, when I glanced quickly at the branding I thought H&M but given their beauty range is realticely new, I don’t think I was quite on the money there. I do think that it smells a little bit like Head and Shoulders but again, that is very likely wrong.

I am counting down to the big reveal on Estée’sblog at the end of the month!
