NEW MAC LIPSTICKS ALERT: FAUX & PLUMFUL REVIEW

4/20/2016

It's no secret that I love nothing more than indulging in a new MAC lipstick and last week I just happened to add two to my collection. My MAC wishlist is forever growing so it takes some willpower to not go too overboard!

I picked up a couple of super summery shades that I have had my eye on for a while. The first one I chose was 'Faux', which is actually rather like one of my all time favourite MAC shades - Brave. Faux is a bit more of a pared down, muted pink... and I can't get enough of it.

Because it is one of the Satin lipsticks, Faux is really wearable and not at all drying on the lips. It's a great choice for the office and I was especially impressed by how long wearing it is.

While nudes lipsticks are all the rage, I feel like Faux is a great little twist on that with it's mauve undertones. In just a week, it has already risen up the ranks very quickly as one of my favourite choices - a definite must buy for me.

I also purchased Plumful, which is widely popular with my fellow bloggers. There are only so many times that you can see a shade named in a 'My Favourite MAC lipsticks' blog post before knowing that you also need to own it.

It's my first 'Lustre' lipstick and, while these are very pigmented, they are typically more on the sheer side than other collections. This also means that it's quite light to wear, which is always a bonus.

Plumful is quite a bold colour, so I think it'll be a great option as we enter the warmer months. It's a statement shade which is a great alternative to a slightly harsher bold red lip.

At £15.50, MAC lipsticks aren't the cheapest on the market. That being said, they are of a really good quality and I do think you get your money's worth.

You can check out my swatches for both of the lipsticks below. Have you tried these? Let me know what you think in the comments.
