Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick Review

2/10/2016

I have a real ability to enter a cosmetics store to purchase something specific and then leave with a whole bunch of things I don't need, because I'm easily drawn in by fancy packaging and beauty deals.

The Soap and Glory 'Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick' was one of those unintentional buys, while I went to a grab a new Archery brow pencil. You know, the thing that I actually needed. I haven't used any Soap and Glory lip products in the past, but with these being a snip at just £3.50 and promising an exceptional shine, I had to give one a try.

These little lip crayons come in seven different colours; Pinkaboo, Purple Rain, Technicoral, Pink Punch, Peaches and Gleam, Shine Pinkfetti and Nudist - which is what I chose. You can never have too many nude shades in your makeup bag and I thought this would be a great to for everyday work wear.

While I only bought one of the Gloss Sticks, I did have a good swatch of the ones in my local store before buying and was pretty impressed by how pigmented they were. Some of the darker shades really pack a colour punch!

Designed to give '3D Volume Shine', it has a 3D Plump Complex as well as a 'Buzz-Free' formula which works to actively plump lips without giving you that tingly sensation.

While I didn't notice my lips appearing any more full than usual when using the Gloss Stick, it does give them a really nice glossy finish. I would say that it's most comparable to a moisturising shiny lipstick, as opposed to a lip gloss. It's less transferable, isn't remotely drying and also, it smells amazing!

I was quite impressed with this, especially given it is priced so reasonably. While it doesn't have the best staying power, it's a great little moisture shot for chapped lips - with a spot of colour too. I'd definitely recommend buying this an alternative if you fancy something different to your plain old standard lip balms.

Luckily, at just over £3 a pop, it isn't bank breaking if more than one falls into your shopping basket too. Bonus!
