Revlon Lip Butters

As we head into the winter months, I’ve been getting more into deeper Autumn shades in matte finishes - especially my match made No7 lippy (see previous blog post!). And, as loooovely as these are, as the weather gets colder I find these a little drying and am on the lookout to keep them super soft and nourished.
Cue: Revlon’s fabulous collection of lip butters!
I purchased my first after seeing a friend with some, and I’ve gained a few more since. Here are the lip butters I have gathered, with swatches and my views…

The first is Creme Brûlée. This is a glossy nude, which is ever so subtle. It’s great for neutral makeup looks, but I also favour it when I’m going for a dark smoky eye - and a bold lip is a bit too ‘in your face’.
Second is Sugar Frosting. This is the pinky equivalent to Creme Brûlée in my opinion. It’s subtle with a touch of the girly hue, though it looks almost colourless with a first application. One of my favourite from the bunch.

Third is Strawberry Shortcake. I was drawn to this one as I liked the name, and the girly pink colour. However, after trying it a few times I can confirm it is not for me. The shade of pink just isn’t my colour, and looks a bit Barbie-esque against my pale skin. Not the best pick for me.
Last we have Berry Smoothie. One of my preferred choice of the four. I’m really into berry shades and this one really doesn’t disappoint. The slightly deeper shade goes much better with my skin tone - without looking too dark. It’s the perfect day to night butter, and I can see it being a go-to for me this Winter.
If you’re looking for a moisture fix, this is your product! There are tons of other colours to choose from - let me know what you think :)
